Attention Kindergarten/1st Grade FUNdamental Program Parents

The K/1 schedule through March 2012 is downloadable below. Remaining sessions will be held at four different locations: Jefferson Elementary (11331 Jefferson St. NE), Johnsville Elementary (991 125th Ave NE), Madison Elementary (650 Territorial Rd) and University Ave Elementary (9901 University Ave NE). Please note the dates and corresponding locations on the K/1 schedule. There will be one final session scheduled on a Saturday in March.

SPECIAL INVITE: All K/1 players are invited to "Youth Night" on Friday, Feb. 10th at 7:00pm to watch the boys varsity basketball game at Blaine High School. If your K/1 player wears his/her FUNdamentals t-shirt, he/she will get into the game for free!

FUNdamental Program Recap: The program will focus on the development of basic basketball skills. Players will learn the skills and use what they learn in fun games to reinforce the skills. The program is designed so the players learn the game but have fun along the way. Our goal as an organization is to “hook” the players onto basketball as a fun experience. This is not a competitive program with official games. Although we’ll have “mini” games, the program is a clinic format for learning fundamental skills and having fun.

Gym Clothes/Shoes/Basketballs: Please make sure your player wears gym shoes and gym clothes. If your child has a basketball, please label it and bring it to and from each session. We will have basketballs available at each session but not enough for every player. There will be drills where we’d like every player to have a ball. The ball size recommended is 28.5, which is the official ball size for youth players (boys and girls) up through 6th grade.
